Opening Your Sole Proprietor Business Account

Membership is open to sole proprietor businesses in select counties in Northern Nevada or Treasure Valley, Idaho.

New sole proprietor business accounts can be opened through our online account application.

Because we want to make sure we offer you the time and attention you deserve, we will take new account walk-ins until 4:30 (M-F); scheduled appointments encouraged.

We will require that each signer’s info passes through ChexSystems, a consumer-reporting agency that aids financial institutions in identifying applicants who may have a history of account abuse. If you want to learn more or dispute an inaccurate report, you can contact ChexSystems anytime.
To open a sole proprietor business account, you’ll need:

$25 opening deposit for your savings account; this is the business entity’s share of ownership in the credit union.
- Social Security Number for individual owning the sole proprietor business OR evidence of Tax ID# or EIN (if employing others)

Valid Form of ID:
- Government issued passport
- State issued driver’s license (we cannot accept the DMV interim document as valid ID)
- State issued non-driver identification card
- Military identification

Fictitious Filing Certificate (if applicable)

Nevada or Idaho Business License (sole proprietor businesses only)

Current Physical Address:
If your ID does not list your current physical address or lists a PO Box, please also provide one of the following that does show your current physical address:-
Utility bill (power, landline phone, water, etc.)

Real property tax bill

Car registration
-
Lease or rental agreement for new address

Great Basin does not currently offer two-signature verification or account sweeps. We do NOT offer account options for LLCs or non-profits.
Sole proprietor businesses located in select counties in Northern Nevada or Treasure Valley, Idaho are eligible for membership. Must maintain a minimum $25 in the Primary Savings Account for the life of the account. This is the business entity’s share of ownership in the credit union.
