More than 200 vendors will be present and live entertainment from local bands will be featured throughout the day. Remember to bring your car batteries, cell phones and other hard-to-recycle items to Earth Day! As always, Earth Day in Reno is a zero-waste event! All food vedors will serve food on compostable plates, napkins and taterware utensils! Beverages will be served in biodegradable corn-based cups. For more information about EcoNet or Earth Day, click here or call 323.3433.
- Friends of Nevada Wilderness: Friends of Nevada Wilderness has been successful in designating and protecting over 3 million acres of Nevada wilderness to date, but it's not enough. Our wild lands need help to heal from past uses and abuses. If you are interested in helping "Friends" in their ongoing efforts, please check out their calendar page by clicking here.
- Great Basin Food Co-op: If you like to be active and on your feet, volunteering in-store at the Co-op is the ideal fit for you. You can support their delivery team, or help with day-to-day stocking and operations at a time that suits your schedule. If you are a people person, you can train on the register to be a volunteer cashier. Lastly, if you are interested in using experience you've gained in your career, such as in accounting and finance, outreach, education, mediating, computers or marketing, you can get involved on a committee. Volunteering earns you big discounts for your grocery shopping too. For more information, please contact their volunteer coordinator by email or click here for their website.
