Essential Share

Essential Share

To activate your membership and obtain other credit union services with Great Basin Federal Credit Union, an Essential Share must be opened. This is your share of ownership in the credit union. A minimum of $25 must be maintained for the life of the account and dividends are paid at the end of each month on average daily balances of $300 or more.

If an Essential Share is the only service you have, your account may be subject to a monthly fee (please see the fee schedule). For information on becoming a full-service member, take a look at our other account options.

If an Essential Share is the only service you have on your account, please be sure conduct at least one transaction per year in order to avoid “dormant” status on your account and subsequently a Dormant Account Fee. Excessive Withdrawal Fee may apply after 6 withdrawals in any one month.

Ready to open your Account?

You can open a new account with our online account application, add products or services to your existing account from within Online Banking, or come see us in person at any one of our branches.
