That’s right… this year, we were able to raise $1,693 for Children’s Miracle Network Miracle Jeans Day! A big THANK YOU to everyone who helped us!
Miracle Jeans Day
Great Basin Federal Credit Union raises money each year for the Reno-based children’s hospital. On Miracle Jeans Day, employees are allowed to wear jeans instead of normal attire for a $5 donation to Renown Children’s Hospital, the area’s Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.
In addition to Miracle Jeans Day, the credit union received donations from its generous members by placing donation jars on teller counters. Local auto dealers Budget Motors, High Sierra Auto Sales, and Internet Auto Rent and Sales also made hefty contributions to the cause. Great Basin’s most unique fundraiser was an employee auction. Staff donated gently used items to the auction, and each day lots of goods were auctioned off via email to the entire staff. Employees Sherri Roach and Jolene Grune lead the team in all of these events this year. We appreciate the fantastic job they did!
A Matching Grant
Great Basin FCU was able to double its donation thanks to a matching grant from CO-OP Financial Services via its “CO-OP Miracle Match” program. Rancho Cucamonga, CA-based CO-OP Financial Services is a financial technology company supporting 3,500 credit unions and 60 million members nationwide.
Credit Unions for Kids
Great Basin Federal Credit Union joined thousands of people that participated in Miracle Jeans Day. Credit unions—through the Credit Unions for Kids non-profit—are the third largest sponsor of Children’s Miracle Hospitals, a charity raising funds for 170 children’s hospitals across North America.
As a big part of Reno/Sparks and the largest Washoe County-based credit union, we are always so happy to be able to give back to the community we love.
